Made in Abyss is a dark fantasy adventure manga written and illustrated by Akihito Tsukushi, published since 2012. The story follows Riko, a 12-year-old orphan living in Orse, a city built around a gigantic mysterious chasm called the Abyss. Dreaming of following in the footsteps of her missing mother, a famous explorer, Riko discovers an amnesiac robot named Reg. Together, they embark on a perilous journey into the depths of the Abyss, a fascinating place teeming with strange creatures and ancient relics, but also deadly dangers and a curse that makes any return to the surface extremely perilous.
